What it does

Simply- Disinfects Domestic Hot Water Plumbing Systems using Monochloramines

The Sanikill® System is a patented design to produce, dose, monitor and trim Monochloramines into a water system. Designed and Patented for use on the Domestic Hot water systems to prevent colonization of waterborne pathogens, such as Legionella.  Monochloramines are more effective than other treatments due to their stability. This stability is what allows Monochloramines to penetrate biofilms without damaging the plumbing system. It is compatible with all types of piping.

How it works

Simply- By dosing Monochloramines into the domestic hot water proportionate to the make-up flow, and adjusting that dosing by monitoring the ORP (oxidation reduction potential) reading from the return loop.

Monochloramines are produced in a reactor flow assembly by mixing chlorine with an ammonium salt. A circulating pump is used to bring flow through the reactor. First the ammonium salt is injected in line and then the hypochlorite solution. The chemicals are dosed in equivalent volumes. The injection of one reagent into the same water as the other reagent is controlled by the Delta T. This is a calculate measurement of the time it takes for the water to flow from the first chemical injection point to the second, resulting in a precise chemical bond within the reactor. The Monochloramine is thus produced and exits the reactor within the water flow, which is introduced in the building hot water supply. The Sanikill system doses according to the amount makeup water (new water coming into the hot water system) and is trimmed/adjusted by an ORP probe. This ORP analysis feature draws water from the recirculation loop to the probe which tell the Sanikill system how much it needs to adjust the dosage to keep Monochloramine within a specified range while preventing the formation of free ammonia.
